Timberway Farm is nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains outside of Maryville, Tennessee and is owned by us, Randy and Debbie Allen and Ashley Phillips. The homestead was built in 1900 and we have been lovingly restoring the home and grounds ever since we purchased the property in the 1990s. Randy has always had a horse growing up and when a polo club started in Knoxville, Randy joined. Ashley was born that same year and attended her first polo match at one week old. Polo was a big part of our lives for many years until Ashley took an interest in learning to jump. We now spend most of our time attending her three-day events. Our farm still sports polo ponies and Randy practices occasionally in Lexington with the former Knoxville polo pro, Jorge Vasquez.
Our facility is made up of an all-weather riding arena, jump field, small xc jumps including a bank complex, 4 stall barn with padded 10'x12' stalls and padded aisleway, conditioning track over the 7 acre field, large hay barn, 3 private paddacks, and 2 large turn out fields.
Thank you for visiting us and contact us if you have any questions, need directions, or would like to inquire about a horse.

Ashley Phillips - Trainer/Barn Manger
Ashley Phillips, daughter of Randy and Debbie Allen, has had a love for horses since her early childhood. Not only are horses in her blood, but they have also been in her life since day one. Ashley grew up on her dad's polo ponies trail riding and learning how to stay on. Once she took an interest in lessons, her parents enrolled her in lessons with H/J trainer Sarah Owen. Ashley took her first pony, Sierra, to all of the local hunter shows and pony club events. During that time, Ashley also started riding, training, and grooming her dad's six polo ponies for 3 summers in a row. Her early years were spent at the Maryville College Equestrian barn riding 4+ horses each day during the summer break on various types of horses.
Ashley started moving up the levels in Pony Club and eventing through her middle and high school years. She has obtained her B level rating with the help of Erika Adams and Deb Wilson, as well as, competed up to the Intermediate/1* level in eventing. Ashley has also competed in numerous rated dressage shows, three-day events, local combined tests, hunter/jumper shows, and fox hunts. She has started many horses over jumps and took them up the levels of eventing or placed them in homes for different careers.
Ashley has a passion for OTTB’s since many of hers and her dad’s horses have been Thoroughbreds, but she has worked with multiple other breeds such as Quarter Horses, Paints, Arabians, Oldenburgs, Irish Sport Horses, and many more.
Ashley has done extensive training under numerous professionals including: Bermuda Pan American Games and Grand Prix Dressage rider-Cathy Fox, two-time US Olympian-Julie Richards, Australian World Equestrian Games Competitor and 4* Eventer-Peter Atkins, Irish 4* Eventer-Hilda Donahue, US 4* Eventer Bill Hoos, and Advanced Level Competitor-Erika Adams. Other notable riders Ashley has trained or participated in clinics with include: Kim Severeson, Lucinda Green, Bonnie Mosser, Jim Koford, Laura Graves, Gina Miles, Leslie Law, Mike Winter, Phillip Dutton, and Kyle Carter (to name a few).
